Leonid started playing the clarinet at the age of 10 at the Rechovot City School of music in Israel. After moving with his family to the city of Haifa he proceeded his studies in the “Rubin” School of music with the guidance of Mr. Vladimir Lavrikov, chief clarinet player at the Symphony orchestra of Haifa. Through all his studies Leonid has received several scholarships from various funds like the “Rotary Club Fund”. He played several times as a soloist at the city municipality of Haifa and took part each year at the “National Ensembles and Orchestra Conference” as a soloist Clarinet player.

In the year 2000, at the age of 18 Leonid took the music matriculation exam (the “Bagrut” exam). Following that year Leonid took the
exams for being a musician in the army (“ZAHAL”), and was accepted as an “Outstanding Clarinetist” (“musicai mitztaen”) to serve the army by playing in the Symphony Orchestra and several ensembles. During his service he studied under the guidance of the chief Clarinetist in the “Philharmonic Israel Orchestra” (FIO) and a professor of the “Tel Aviv Academy of music” Mr. Richard Lesser. 

In the year 2003 Leonid finished his service and turned to professional playing. Leonid was accepted as a teacher to the city school of music in Hertzelia. Also he was accepted as a chief clarinet player to the Hertzelia orchestra by the conduction of Mr. Harvi Bordowitz.  

Leonid took several master classes with leading clarinet players such as: Antony Fei, Eli Eban and Sharon Kam.

Today Leonid is studying at his fourth year at the Technion – “Israel Institute of Technology” at the faculties of Materials Engineering and Physics for his BSc degree. Leonid is the chief Clarinetist at the Technion Symphony Orchestra and a member of the “Northern Winds” ensemble.
