About Northern Winds
Northen Winds is a group of young amateur musicians playing rich musical repertoire. In their repertoire you can find jumpy ragtimes and passionate tango music, as well as classical music and popular Israeli songs. Most of the music they play, consists of original arrangements by the quartet members. The Quartet was founded first in 2000 as a bassoon duet by Gilad (Oboe/Bassoon) and Marina (Bassoon). After about two years Tomer (Flute) became a regular member of the group. And for a year the group was a trio. In 2006 Leonid (Clarinet) joined and the group became a quartet as it is known today. All four members of the quartet are first musicians of the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology) Symphonic Orchestra. |
